History: Beetlekit was born to a DogClan queen who was distant at best, but did still care for her kits. His two sisters were stillborn, which led to his mother nearly losing her mind. She remained a fragile cat, but as her son grew, he only sought to impress her. Once he learned that wasn't possible, he determined that he would be the best he could be. It wasn't until his apprenticeship that he began to understand that this meant hurting other cats. The first cat he killed was a kittypet, late into his apprenticeship. She had wandered from the barn. It made him feel sick, and he'd hated it. His next kill was when he was a new warrior. This one was a young apprentice from CreekClan. He'd attacked her and left her to drown. He felt bad after, but it didn't hurt quite as much. As he grew into an older warrior, he began to creep into the mind of his deputy, proving himself a loyal cat. It was when Badgerstrike became Badgerstar that he made his move. He killed her in her sleep, ripping every last life away while she was recovering from the previous one. The next morning, he took his place as leader, and ruled for many moons with a doctrine of bloodshed and rage. He never elected a deputy, and chose a she-cat barely out of her apprenticeship to have his kits. She bore two -- a tortoiseshell she-cat he called Briarkit, and a black tom he called Spiderkit. When Spidershade was old enough, he was named the successor. That is, until Antheart, the mother of his kits, killed him and took his place. She led them into an era of recovery, and still elders spit his name like it's the dirtiest of curses.
Personality: Beetlestar is cruel and angry. Everything he does seems to be for the purpose of getting revenge on his mother for ignoring him, or for 'purging the clans' to make them 'stronger'. He sought to be rid of outsider and half-clan blood, and thought that he was the only one worthy to lead the struggling masses. Beetlestar fights brutally, with no regard for honor or glory. All he craves is bloodshed. His blatant narcissism makes him fairly easy to manipulate, and he wants everyone to know his name and what he did. He loves the way his name leaves a bad taste in any cat's mouth, and he is always happy to spit at the cats he killed from over StarClan's border. Rage is what fuels him, and one of his few redeeming traits is the unconditional love with which he had for his daughter, whom he later named Briarfang, after his own warrior name. It shattered him when, upon his death, she pleaded her mother to rename her and her brother to what Antstar had originally called them -- Needlelight and Thornfoot.
