Wolfclaw's eyes made their way back to Aspenheart as she finished gathering what she needed and made her way back to him to continue her story. He took a seat in the cool grass, wrapping his tail around his paws as he knew the story could only get more interesting.
"Wow, they let Storm be a leader after killing Lucky?" he purred, surprise growing across his face. "That's kinda crazy." Wolfclaw waited to see if there were any other curveballs Aspenheart had to throw at him. "Do you why Lucky did that?" He kept an eye out for anything out of the ordinary, as they still had a few more things to collect.

It had really just been the flower, honest. Her ear flicked to him. "Well, yeah, but Lucky understood that not only was Storm a strong tom that would lead well, he had also been doing what he thought he needed to in order to survive. They taught everyone that they didn't need to kill to win a fight, of course!" Aspenheart carried on, continuing to tell a very different story from the actual truth about the dawn of the clans and how they were born. After all, stories rarely stay the same when passed by word of mouth. As they approached the Dry Stream, right at the border of CreekClan territory, she stopped in front of a small cluster of three medium sized-stones and five or six smaller ones. Quietly, she placed the lily just in front of them, sitting down. "... Perhaps I could tell you this story as well," she said softly, gazing quietly at the water just past the dam. The beavers mostly minded their own business, steering clear of the cats, although one was chattering loudly at them from atop the lodge. The rushing water seemed so remarkably peaceful to her. syd

"That's make sense. Good of him," Wolfclaw purred as he followed the medicine cat down to the water. He loved the water, how it flowed and seemed so calming. Sometimes he wished he could swim and come down here for a dip in his free time. There were a few clouds drifting over them, covering the sun for a few minutes at a time. He made sure to not get too complacent and once again checked the area for any dangers.
Nothing stood out and it still seemed safe, at least for now. However, not too far from the two cats was a beaver hanging out on their dam. "You know anything about them?" the tom asked. The beavers were never much of a bother, but Wolflcaw thought they were pretty interesting animals.

Her eyes shifted to the beavers. "Hm? Oh, yeah... not much. I know that if you can manage to catch one, they make quite the meal, but they're also quite dangerous..." Aspenheart's eyes wandered back to the arrangement of stones, her tail curled around her paws as she focused on it. The medicine cat looked remarkably sad... something a little bit out of the ordinary for such a bright and peppy cat. That was when Wavecrash, a queen from CreekClan out taking a walk along the banks of the river, noticed them. Her ears swiveled, and she headed over. "Uh, hey, I don't think -- hey, what are you two doing so close to the border?" syd

Wolfclaw remembered how a while ago, as a kit, the clan found a beaver and decided to eat it during a harsh leaf-bare. He didn't really remember the taste that well, but for a young kit it was a very extravagant treat. His nostalgia was interrupted by an unfamiliar scent, soon followed by a cat across the border. He took a step closer to the medicine cat in defense.
"Just some medicine cat stuff," Wolfclaw meowed, flicking his tail towards Aspenheart going about her business. "Relax, we're not over the border so don't worry." He gave a smirk to the she-cat from Creekclan, hoping she would leave them be, as they weren't really doing anything harmful.

Wavecrash was in no shape to fight, so she just nodded warily and continued on her way. Still, she was watching them, slinking away with a breath caught in her throat. Aspenheart, on the other hand, was just sitting in front of the rocks looking sad, like she had been. Her tail was curled around her paws now, and her fur was fluffed out a little bit. She was... anxious. She didn't like the idea of a warrior from another clan watching them. She recognized that it was a bad time to... be out. Her eyes flicked between the grave, and then back to Wolfclaw. Aspenheart whimpered softly and got to her paws. "M-Maybe... we should go back."

Wolfclaw nodded back as well to the warrior from across the border, glad she minded her own business. The tom was way too lazy to deal with a border scuffle when the two of them were just out collecting herbs.
He noticed how worried Aspenheart looked after the brief encounter. Wow did that really spook her? That was nothing! He turned his head to see her sitting by some rocks. "You good? Don't worry, doesn't seem like they're gonna give us any trouble today," he meowed, flicking his ear. After all, if they did come back around, he'd make sure to emphasize being respectful to another clan's medicine cat.

The medicine cat shook her head. "It's not just that. We're... exposed. You never know when hunters might arrive... wasn't Timberstar of DogClan just killed by one?" she murmured. "I'd feel a lot safer back in the caves. Aspenheart cast a last glance at the grave before standing, looking over at Wolfclaw and slowly edging away and towards their camp again. She was quiet, not really wanting to say anything now, unless he maybe decided to ask about the rocks/flower thing. Her pelt smoothed, but Aspenheart was still on edge. She was usually pretty nervous this far from camp, if she was honest. syd

Wolfclaw understood Aspenheart's worries. She had the right to be afraid so far away from camp and out in the open. But he wasn't too concerned at the moment and wanted to make sure she was comfortable while they were out. "I'm just here to accompany you," he replied, "If you've gotten everything you need, then we're good."
He flicked his tail back towards the direction of camp. The hunters hadn't really crossed his mind as he usually tried to stay in the safer parts of the territory. But the medicine cat was right, they could show up at any time. It was a shame about what happened to Timberstar.
