❝ | At an opera scene that I perceive: A society that you want me to govern But I'm no governor So willingly, I share distant memories A passing glance, a broken stare | ❞ |
Faust let out a sharp breath as he arose from his sleep. His mind was foggy as he attempted to shake the remnants of his dream away. As he looked over across the pile of rocks, their army of two had called home, he saw Rust wasn't around. It didn't surprise him seeing as how late in the morning it was. Rust was an early riser, while Faust was more content in getting as much rest as he could.
He shook off the sleep and rose to his feet, stretching out his tired limbs before hopping down the rocks. The tom grabbed a quick meal and headed off into the forest. There wasn't much for him to do at the moment other than do a bit of hunting as Rust was expecting him to and possibly look for some new recruits. He could explore the clan borders as well but he'd much rather do it with his partner now that he had one. No need to go alone and risk being attacked.
The snow coated bengal buried the bones of his meal and continued on his way. Further away from their territory there would be cats roaming. Among them Faust had the duty of picking out the strongest, in both strength and intellect. He couldn't trust just anyone to follow him. His mind wandered to Rust's method of interrogation, hoping he could use some aspects of it without scaring the cats off. He sighed to himself and began picking up his pace. 289 WORDS ● TAGGED ● PLS say HI to him, he needs friends

The twins padded through the forest silently, it was a beautiful morning warmer than most, flowers began to grow and the morning frost was nearly non-existent. They walked close together at the same pace their paws hitting the ground at the same time as if they were only one cat. They had never gone this far into the pine woods, not because they were scared but because they were busy or found no reason to but the twins soon decided it was best to know the area and went to patrol. Evergreen stopped and a moment after so did Spruce. They both tasted the air, it was the scent of rogues. Pine turned to Evergreen and smiled mischievously. The two carried on quietly, up ahead they saw a cream tom about their size with chocolate markings. "Greetings, sir." They said with a bow. The two practiced greetings so that they could say them at the same time and alternated between different ones so it seemed that they were extremely in sync, they both liked the reactions it got. He could smell the pair before they came into his sight. Faust paused and let them come into view, the pair immediately going into greeting. It appeared they were friendly for the most part. His initially thought they were strange, being quite in sync with eachother down from their steps to their speaking. Something notable is how similar they looked. Quite a handsome pair of cats, hopefully they would be useful.
The pale coated bengal stiffened and greeted them back. "Hello. What brings the two of you out here?" His blue eyes squinted as he looked them over. They smelled like rogue's, no scent of clan upon them. Which meant they were either born out in the wild or experienced the same situation as Rust. "Can't say I've seen the two of you before. Do you have names?"

"The twins." They said together. "Evergreen." The first tom said. "Spruce." Said the other. Evergreen padded forward to the tom's right flank and Spruce did the same on the tom's opposite side. They brushed their tails against his flank. "And who might you be?" Asked spruce with a purr. "We came here out of curiosity," Said Evergreen. "About what lays in the unknown." Spruce finished. "Can't say were disappointed though." He said with a sly smile. Who is this cat? Spruce thought. I can smell another cat. They were here earlier, how early he couldn't say due to the frost it could've washed away some of the scent but it seemed relatively fresh. "We're lucky your mate left you all to us." Evergreen said. "How thoughtful of her." Spruce purred. Word Count: 130 Notes: - Tags: nine

Faust had to admit he was a bit taken aback by Spruce and Evergreen's forwardness. They approached him confidently which was a positive but he could tell these two were devious. If only he could just remember which is which. Two tails brushed against the sides of his flank made him shiver, he moved away, keeping the two of them in front of him at all times. "Ah, I can't hand over my name just yet. You've got to earn it." He hummed, a wicked smile spreading to his lips. "And you're mistaken. I don't have a mate."
"He, is my partner." The tom didn't expand on that. If things went smoothly here then the twins would be able to see Rust for themselves and make their own opinion of him. "It's business."

"Tsk, tsk, tsk." Spruce tutted at the tom. "You're no fun, pretty boy." Evergreen chimed. The twins sat down in front of him as the tom avoided their advances. "And how would we do that?" Spruce asked. They both cocked their heads to the left at the same time. "What kind of business is that?" Spruce asked. Evergreen looked the tom up and down, he was strategizing trying to get them to stay as long as possible, perhaps to rope them into their "business" whatever it was he was interested to hear. Spruce turned to Evergreen and Evergreen turned to him, giving each other a sly look. Maybe there'd be more cats than this cat and his "partner" the twins if they loved anything it was the attention of adoring cats that would fawn over their looks and mischevious personalities. Hopefully, some she-cats, although the two toms wouldn't say no to a few more pretty toms to toy with. Rogues didn't usually band together unless they had a certain goal since the clans were much bigger and easier to survive in compared to the rough life that rogues and loners lived. Faust keeps his expressions reserved despite the compliments. As much as he enjoys being showered in affection and words of praise, he was not about to show weakness to these two twins he'd just met. They were quite the peculiar case. "Well firstly, you two must prove yourselves. First impressions are everything as you would know." Faust looked towards Spruce or was he Evergreen? Doesn't matter. He looked at one twin before looking towards the other. "Before I tell you what it is exactly we do, I need to know your affiliation and relations towards the clans. Can't have just anyone being in on the secret." He felt in order to coax them into giving up information, he should provide just a little. "Tell me that and I'll tell you my name." He purred. Though he quite liked the nickname, it was better to be on a name basis with the two. It was only fair now.
Hopefully Spruce and Evergreen wouldn't be off-put by the fact that their band of cats was only two strong at the moment. There weren't many rogues or loners to come into contact with and seduce to their side. That would soon change however. He had plans to use the twins for that. No doubt they could rope in a few here and there. As they got more members and became stronger then they could start putting the pressure on the clans and gain more territory. He smiled to himself at the thought.
