Slipping out of Pebbleclan's camp was easy enough. It was the waiting that was hard. Ivycloud did everything she could to keep herself and her mind occupied as she waited for sunset. There was a curious queen who noticed her odd behavior and questioned her on it but Ivycloud sated her curiosity. Her green eyes watched as the sun slowly began it's descent, signaling it was time for her to leave. She slipped out the camp quietly, heading over to a small stream to check her reflection.
Ivycloud gave herself a good grooming, sure to be presentable to Birchstrike. The small she-cat then headed on her way, retracing her steps from the previous day to find the spot they agreed to meet at. It was now that she desperately wished the seasons were warmer, she could have brought flowers. She didn't know if Birchstrike liked them, she knew she did, but it was the thought that counted.
In her nervousness she may have walked faster than she needed to. By the time she'd reach the area they were in yesterday the sun still had some ways to go. Ivycloud sighed and paced a bit. The wind sent a cold shiver through her, making her miss the warmth of the warriors den. The area in the forest was quiet, and so far there wasn't any immediate danger. Ivycloud relaxed and willed herself to sit down. Birchstrike would be here soon, Ivycloud was simply early.
The thought opened up a whole new can of worms. Maybe Birchstrike wouldn't be coming. Perhaps this was some joke. She looked out towards the sun, seeing there was only minutes before sunset. Ivycloud shook her head and pressed her lips together in a tightline. She couldn't think like that. Not now. Birchstrike would show up and she'd be reassured her feelings for her were genuine.
No, she'll be here. And when she gets here.. Ivycloud briefly wondered what they would do. Of course the two would talk, get to know one another better but what else? Maybe Ivycloud can show Birchstrike the path she took walks on, there was a particular spot that she liked to rest at, it had a beautiful view of the forest. Maybe she'd take Birchstrike to the clearing. A little space in the forest where the stars could be seen clear. She'd stumble upon it one day as she explored. Her mind was about to trail off, thinking of more places to drag Birchstrike to, until she heard a nose just up ahead of her. Ivycloud stood up, looking alert. Perhaps it was Birchstrike.
