The Basics
When a kit is born they are given the first part of their name by their parents (Leaf, Fire, Cactus, Berry etc.) and then as they grow older their second part of their name will change as they advance the ranks.
Kits
Kits names always end with the suffix 'kit' (Leafkit, Firekit, Cactuskit, Berrykit)
Apprentices
Apprentices names always end in the suffix 'paw' (Leafpaw, Firepaw, Cactuspaw, Berrypaw)
Warriors/ Medicine cats
Medicine cats and warriors are given a suffix by the leader of the clan at their ceremony and unless they become leader or have their name changed by the leader for some reason it will always be this name. (Leafpool, Firebranch, Cactusheart, Berrynose)
Leaders
Leaders have their warrior suffix replaced with 'star' when they become leader (Leafstar, Firestar, Cactusstar, Berrystar)
Ranks that don't change their names
When becoming an Elder, Queen or Deputy you will keep your warriro prefix
Extra rules on naming
Names must be something cats know about and something in nature
Acceptable names: Lillysong, Dreamcloud, Branchfur etc
Unacceptable names: Dexterleaf, Knifeblood, Dragonfire
Exeptions: Usually if a rogue, loner or kittypet joins the clan they will keep their name as a prefix or all together (Ex: Billystorm, Milliebreeze, Cleotail etc)
